Commencement is a front-row moment for people who often can't get a front-row seat — grandparents, family abroad, a parent working a shift. We produce the ceremony as a broadcast so every family sees their graduate cross the stage and hears their name, and we hand the school a recording to share. It works in an auditorium, a house of worship, or on an open field.
What we produce
The ceremony
- Multi-camera coverage — a wide of the stage, a tight on the handshake, and the processional
- A name graphic for each graduate, triggered from your program list
- Podium feed for the principal, speakers, and the keynote
- Professional audio — the PA feed plus our own microphones
Outdoor & stadium
- Bonded-cellular connectivity where there is no wired internet, with a backup path
- Backup power on the core system
- Drone coverage where it is permitted for the site and flown by a licensed operator
- Weather-aware rigging and a plan B
Big screens & IMAG
- The live camera cut on your LED wall or projection
- Name graphics and student photos on the big screen as each graduate crosses
- Overflow rooms fed the same program
- One cut for the room and the stream
Virtual & pre-recorded
- Record speeches and each graduate over several days at the school
- Assemble a produced ceremony with a live premiere and chat
- Password-protected link shared with graduates in advance
- Celebratory photos and videos for each student
What an online-viewable ceremony can include
The structure is up to the school. A common shape:
- A pre-show slideshow — campus photos, senior-year highlights — as families log on.
- The principal welcomes viewers, gives remarks, and introduces the speakers.
- The feed cuts to the keynote or graduate speaker (valedictorian, class president), live or pre-recorded.
- A department chair or teacher returns to read names.
- As each name is read, the graduate crosses and their name appears on screen — live, or assembled from clips and photos the students sent in.
- A title card marks the start of each department or major.
- A recessional slideshow or a class video closes the ceremony.
- The recording is posted for graduates and families to download and keep.
Planning
We work from your program: the order of proceedings, the name list and its pronunciations, the stage layout, sightlines, power, and the internet situation. For an outdoor ceremony we survey the site, confirm carrier coverage for the uplink, and build a weather contingency. See our drones and graduations project for an example.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you stream an outdoor ceremony on a field with no internet?
Yes. A bonded-cellular uplink combines several carrier networks into one connection so we can broadcast from a stadium, a quad, or an athletic field, with a backup path and backup power.
- Can each graduate's name appear on screen?
Yes. We run a name graphic from your program list, triggered as each student is announced, so families watching remotely can read it clearly — and so can the big screens in the venue.
- Do families need a password?
Your choice. The stream can be open, unlisted, or password-protected and shared with graduates in advance. Either way it is recorded and posted afterward for anyone who missed it.
- Can you drive the big screens in the venue?
Yes. We feed IMAG — the live camera cut, plus name graphics and photos — to your LED wall or projection so the whole room and the stream see the same thing.
- Can it be pre-recorded or fully virtual instead?
Yes. We can record speeches and each graduate over several days and assemble a produced virtual ceremony with a live premiere, or mix pre-recorded and live segments.
