Long Island Streaming produces interview and testimonial video on Long Island and across the New York metro area — customer testimonials and case-study video, executive and thought-leadership interviews, recruitment and culture pieces, and panels and roundtables. Interviews are the backbone of most corporate video: the raw material for testimonials, recruiting films, and thought-leadership series. We light them properly, run two cameras so the edit cuts without jump cuts, record clean lavalier and boom audio, and — most importantly — do the research that gets usable, complete answers on the day.
How we produce an interview
Research decides whether the interview works. We pick the subjects with you, hold a short pre-interview call to hear their story and find the moments worth building around, and write a question map and a rough arc before the shoot. Questions are ordered to warm the subject up, get the key points in the middle, and close on something forward-looking. On the day we ask for complete, self-contained answers, so a line stands on its own in the edit without the question laid over it.
Setup. Two cameras at an offset — one tight and on-eyeline, one wider — so the cut is invisible. The set sits six to eight feet off the background, which is lit on its own so it drops into soft focus. Three-point lighting on the subject, and a lavalier and a boom recorded together (see the plan below).
Record once. Every angle records for the whole session at full quality. We also shoot B-roll of the subject's work or workplace, which gives the edit texture and cover.
Post-production. We build a paper edit from the transcript first — the story on the page before the timeline — then cut a hero film and the 30- to 60-second social versions from it, with quote-card and caption packages for the marketing team.
Delivery. Captions and transcripts, every aspect ratio you need, and a synced multicam project handed to your own editor on request.
The two-camera setup
The offset between the two cameras is what lets an editor tighten a rambling answer without a visible jump. Keeping the interviewer right beside camera A's lens holds the subject's eyeline consistent between angles. Lighting the background separately keeps it from competing with the face and gives every interview in a series the same depth.

Frequently asked questions
- Why two cameras for an interview?
A wide and a tight angle at an offset let the edit cut between them without a jump cut, so answers can be trimmed and tightened invisibly. Both are recorded for the whole session at full quality.
- How do you get usable answers?
Research. A pre-interview call, a question map, and a story arc built before the shoot, then questions asked on the day in a way that gets complete, self-contained answers — so a line works in the edit without the question over it.
- Can subjects join remotely?
Yes. See our virtual interviews work — a remote contributor joins on a clean feed, recorded at full quality on their end, and cut to match the in-room look.
- What do we get at the end?
A hero film, 30- to 60-second social cutdowns, quote-card and caption packages, captions and transcripts, every aspect ratio you need, and a synced multicam project for your own editor on request.
- Do you shoot at the customer's site?
Often, yes — on location at the customer's workplace with B-roll of their work behind the interview. It grounds the story and gives the edit texture.
- Can a teleprompter be used for thought-leadership pieces?
Yes, where the wording needs to be exact and approved. For a series we keep a consistent look and a teleprompter available so multiple speakers match.
