A streamed event reads as a broadcast because someone is calling it — choosing the shot a beat before it is needed, firing the right name graphic as a speaker begins, and cutting to the slide at the moment the presenter references it. That is the job of the producer at the switcher.
One program, built live from every source
What show-calling covers
- Cutting the cameras — wide for context, tight for faces, cut cleanly and never crossing the line; a wide safety shot always available while a camera repositions.
- Graphics on cue — lower thirds fired as each speaker starts, titles and bumpers between segments, a persistent logo bug (see graphics & slides).
- Presentation — slides taken as a clean feed and switched full-screen or picture-in-picture with the presenter.
- Remote guests — brought into the switch as a normal source with a return feed and mix-minus (see remote presenters).
- Time — the producer holds the run of show, gives time cues, and manages breaks and holding slides.
- A second set of eyes — on the encoder and the connection the whole time, so a problem is caught before the audience sees it.
Before the day
We build the technical show from your run of show, load and test every slide and roll-in, rehearse the cuts and graphics, and run an individual check with each remote presenter. On the day the producer runs the technical show so your team can focus on the content.

Frequently asked questions
- What does the producer actually do during the show?
They call every cut and switch it, fire lower thirds and titles on cue, cut to slides full-screen or picture-in-picture, bring remote guests in and out, watch the clock against the run of show, and keep a second set of eyes on stream health. Your team runs the content; we run the technical show.
- Do you work from our run of show?
Yes. We build the technical show from your schedule — speaker order, slide cues, video roll-ins, graphics, and timings — and rehearse it. Changes right up to show time are normal and expected.
- Can you take a feed from our graphics or AV team?
Yes. We can take a fill-and-key graphics feed from your operator, a program or slide feed from the room's AV system, or a clean camera feed, and integrate any of them into the switch.
